API
The box integrates with your tools through two local interfaces, on your network:
- the JSON-RPC API — connection, authentication, conventions — and its full reference, generated from the box;
- MQTT.
!!! note "What about the optimizer protocol?" The channel between the engine and an optimizer is not an integration API: it has its own protocol, described in the Optimizer section.
